Among the many honors he has earned over the years, DARCARS Automotive Group Founder and Chairman John Darvish is now in the Northwood University’s “Gallery of Distinction,” and was this past week presented with an honorary Doctor of Laws degree by Northwood President Keith A. Pretty, J.D.
      “The honorary doctorate is the highest award a university can make to an individual who has contributed to society in a meaningful way,” said Pretty.  “It is our privilege to
recognize the men and women whom Northwood has vested with degrees during the past 47 years,”  he said.
“Through their accomplishments, ideals, and support, our communities have become better places and our nation has benefited,”  Pretty said of Darvish  and others so honored. “These leaders have won recognition in business, the professions, the fine arts, education, and religion. Their involvement in the thrust of the Northwood Idea will continue forever,” he added.
      Darvish has won hundreds of recognition and achievement awards from various manufacturers over his past 29 years as a new car dealer, including the 2004 TIME Magazine Quality Dealer of the Year Award and the Toyota President’s Award.
