Temptations, Convention Center Venue Draw Record Crowd,

Fundraising Record Set

The chance to party with the legendary Temptations in the largest ballroom on the east coast for a good cause proved to be a powerful draw for over a thousand WANADA members, community patrons, industry VIPs and scores of public officials from D.C., Maryland and Virginia who registered for what was unquestionably the most spectacular Snow Ball in the event’s long history Held for the first time at the new Washington Convention Center Ballroom, the 2004 Snow Ball also set a fundraising record. Led by the strong support and participation of Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Washington, which has been the sole beneficiary in the past, thousands of dollars were raised for five area service organizations, which also included American Red Cross of the National Capital Area; Boy Scouts of America, National Capital Area Council; Parkinson Foundation of the National Capital Area; and R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center. To date, The Washington Auto Show Snow Ball has raised over $1 million for charity.

“WANADA promised to take the 2004 Washington Auto Show Snow Ball to a higher level in every respect and I think we have delivered in grand style,” Snow Ball Chairman Tammy Darvish of DARCARS told an poised crowd of merrymakers. She thanked all those in attendance for their “overwhelming support for these deserving and important charitable and service organizations.”

Sponsored by The Washington Post and BB&T, The Snow Ball was organized and hosted by a committee comprised of members of WANADA’s Board of Directors and Auto Show Committee and representatives of the five benefiting organizations.
