Alex Perdikis Selected as WANADA’s 2026 TIME Dealer of the Year
October 21, 2026
WANADA is proud to announce that Alex Perdikis, president and owner of Koons Motors in Silver Spring, Maryland, has been selected as WANADA’s nominee for the 2027 TIME Dealer of the Year Award, one of the automotive industry’s highest honors. Perdikis is among just 48 dealers nationwide chosen to compete for the national award, which will be presented at the 2027 NADA Show in Orlando.

A lifelong automotive retailer, Perdikis began his career washing vehicles at Koons of Tysons Corner while attending the University of Richmond. After moving through accounting, sales, and management roles, he became a general manager at age 25 and later acquired the Silver Spring dealership that became Koons Motors. Since taking ownership in 2011, he has transformed the operation into one of the region’s top-performing dealerships representing Ford, Mazda, and Lincoln.
Much of that success has been driven by investments in facilities, people, and innovation. Koons Motors has completed major upgrades across all three franchises, expanded vehicle sales and profitability, and nearly doubled its workforce. Perdikis has placed particular emphasis on employee retention and development, offering wellness benefits, apprenticeship opportunities, professional training programs, and meaningful recognition for long-term team members.
His commitment to workforce development will be especially familiar to WANADA members. Koons Motors has partnered extensively with WANADA, local schools, community colleges, manufacturer programs, and apprenticeship initiatives to help address the technician shortage and create career pathways for young people entering the automotive industry. The dealership has supported programs including WANADA’s Automotive Instructional Program, Ford ASSET, and manufacturer-backed technician training initiatives.
Perdikis has also been a strong advocate for dealer innovation. In 2018, he founded inride LLC, a technology company that develops AI-powered solutions for dealerships. By piloting new technologies within his own operation before offering them to the wider dealer community, Perdikis has helped demonstrate how retailers can leverage emerging tools while maintaining a focus on customer service and operational excellence.
Beyond the dealership, Perdikis has devoted significant time and resources to charitable causes throughout the Washington region. His leadership has supported blood cancer research, youth sports, education, workforce development, disaster relief efforts, and programs assisting federal employees and their families. Together with his family and community partners, he has helped raise more than $1 million for blood cancer initiatives.
A longtime NADA member and active industry leader, Perdikis currently serves as Treasurer of WANADA, where he has worked on behalf of dealers throughout the metropolitan Washington region. His nomination reflects not only the success of Koons Motors, but also the leadership, community engagement, and commitment to the future of franchised dealerships that the award seeks to recognize.
Please join WANADA in congratulating Alex on this well-deserved recognition and wishing him success as he advances in the national competition.
